On 1296 MHz I made first ever contacts been between Germany – Belarus in 1985 (DL – UC2/RC2; now EU) and Germany – German Democratic Republic back in 1983 (DL – Y2).
The equipment that time was an IC202-Transceiver, followed by an 1296/144MHz-Transverter and a 2C39 cavity amplifier running at some 30 W RF output. The antenna-system consists of a 2.1m dish with wideband-feedhorn.
My Highlight´s on 23 cm are contacts with RC2AA (KO33 – first DL / UC2 on 1296MHz), Y23FL (JO50 – first DL / Y2 on 1296MHz) and YU1IQ (KN04 – Yugoslavian DX-record at that time).
RC2AA – First ever contact between Germany and Belarus on 1.296 MHz
Y23FL – First ever contact between Germany and German Democratic Republic on 1.296 MHz
YU1IQ – Best YU-DX on 1.296 MHz that time
