Map of European squares worked on 144 MHz by DK5AI :

Back in the 70´ my interrests changed from Dx-ing on shortwave to VHF- / UHF- and SHF - propagation observation and technique.
In 1975 I got the chance to use a little cottage on top of a beautiful mountain in JO51GO (former EU-Locator FL33b). This first-class location, a dream of every VHF-DXer, is about 700m (2.100ft) above sealevel and has a 360° free takeoff. I completely re-build the cottage and installed electrical power, heater, beds etc. With mostly homemade equipment I worked a lot of DX using all kinds of propagations like Tropo, Sporadic E, Aurora, Meteor-Scatter and EME.
Due to business reasons I had to give up this location in 1990.
